Prescription for Love

Who's your perfect guy? The tall handsome medical student who also cooks gourmet meals, writes you romantic love letters and cleans the apartment while you are at work? Does this guy really exist? He absolutely does. Congratulations D and J, who will be getting married this May at the Turnip Rose in Costa Mesa, California. By the way, he found the perfect girl in his bride to be. Beautiful, sweet, stylish and a winning personality. Oh, and she's also an orthopedic nurse. Their formal occasion will kick off the summer wedding season.

Tuxedo Trends

Most often the bride and bridesmaids' attire is the primary focus of the wedding. But what about the men? I asked the experts at Friar Tux what the latest trends are for the groom and his groomsmen. They report that today's tuxedo is predominantly worn in black regardless of the wedding month, location, or time of day. It can be either a solid or tone -on-tone fabric. The trend today is in the super 100's or 120's woolens - very soft and luxurious, with a more comfortable and flattering drape. Recently browns and tans have ecome popular for less formal destination weddings. Every one in the wedding party should have the same coat, pants, shirt and shoe style to create a uniform look. Don't forget to choose a style that comes in a boy's size for the ring bearer.

Cool Ways to Enhance Your Buffet

A nice alternative to a sit down dinner at your reception is either a buffet or a variety of  food stations.  But how do you create a tempting buffet so your guests don't feel like they're standing in a cafeteria line?  Work with your wedding planner to enhance the presentation by adding a beautiful ice sculpture like the ones below.  These are great for a martini bar, or signature cocktail bar too!

Elegant hairstyles

A beautiful updo on your wedding day is  the most elegant and classic look for the bride and her bridesmaids.  This chic style not only complements a graceful neckline, but emphasizes  the jewelry and hair accessories available for your special occasion.  Be sure to schedule an appointment with your stylist a few weeks in advance to try different styles to be certain to achieve the look you want.

Hot Honeymoon Location

Kilauea Volcano on the island of Hawaii provided a steamy backdrop to celebrate their nuptials for Miami couple Shandra and Dave.  Helicopter flights over the active volcano and sunset views of the lava flowing into the ocean are an exciting way to spend your honeymoon.  Hawaii also offers beautiful waterfalls, ATV adventures, horseback riding, couples spa treatments and beautiful beaches to enjoy.

Gorgeous Cakes

The Wedding Cake is the focal point of most wedding receptions, tempting guests with a variety of flavors and fillings.  Pastry chefs take pride in creating the ultimate centerpiece for your celebration.  Check out some of these amazing creations!

Holiday Proposals Ring in New Year

Romance was in the air over the holidays as Santa delivered diamonds to girls all over the country. Congratulations to Jackie and Dan in Michigan, Cole and Tory in Maryland, and Kristen and John in California.  One romantic groom-to-be even flew to Kona, Hawaii to surprise his true love with a proposal she will always remember on the Big Island!  New Year's Eve celebrated many new couples as well not only in Vegas, but even in San Francisco!
